Welcome Cyclone! That rear speaker, is that for scaring Grandma out of the car? ;)

hehe...Actually, the reason I have that is simple. :) I ordered my car w/ the HK stereo, but for some reason it was going to be 2 months late on delivery. My dealer found another car w/ everything I ordered, except the HK stereo. So they added Xeon headlights, a kicker amp, and that kicker sub to give me the audio improvement that I wanted.
It sounds REALLY good. Much better than HK imho. So, in all my new cars from now on, I'm going to not order HK, and instead get them to add an aftermarket amp and sub. Sounds great!!!
EDIT: Also, if you look closely @ that pic, you can see some velcro attach. That leather flap folds up and attachs so you can't even tell I have that sub in there. Helps prevent thieves from knowing I have the system, and hopefully deters theft (if only a little bit).

I REALLY wish BMW would drop HK and get a good stero system in their cars, HK really does suck when you line them up against Bose or Blaupunkt(sp)...I had my car about 3 weeks and got the famous HK rattle on a front door panel speaker which the dealer replaced..

Welcome Cyclone. Nice photos.
The updated 2002 styling looks very nice in blue (I wasn't so sure on the silver BMWs I have seen around).
Cheers,

Nice car. Momentum treated you well it seems. I hope they didn't put that silly ///M logo on your trunk. I had mine removed. :)

Same to ya Eugie! I still have my Pink Floyd cranked up higher than I should..and currently I don't have any complaints since they did fix it..however, 3 weeks into a new car and speaker replacement?!? They service advisor said it was common....so I guess what I'm saying is..if its common, ****can the vendor BMW! ;) They obviously don't do any quality control.

Ditto for me, plus I've learned to like the Metallica S&M CD

Get mine replaced next week. Had the problem from day one. But get my first loaner to try out in the process;)

It was part of my original order, to NOT have that thing put on. They tried to talk me into it. I said, "My car is not a billboard. If you want me to advertise for you, I'll be more than happy to do so for $2500 a year or a one time fee of $5000" They said, "Ok...no ///M logo for you" hehe
Cyclone is right. Our cars should have the dealer's name emblazoned on them. If they want to use our cars for advertising, them either get our permission or pay for that privilege. It really irks me when the car's asthetics are ruined by advertising which you neither wanted or were asked about. My dealer told me that they would not place any advertising on my car...this without my having to ask.

and I've never had to ask that this SPAM not be placed on my cars.
Don't mind the obligatory license plate frame because I can chuck that whenever I get a better one. But any dealership badges or decals just frost my cookies. Maybe on a Buick, but definitley not a BMW.
Nice car by the way, Cy!
Good thing you've got the velcro because I'm sure it keeps the armrest from flying off and causing any damage when you crank up the volume.:)

hehe...Actually, the velcro holds up the leather flap that was the backing to the arm rest. Meaning I have a leather flap that velcros up, and then the arm rest. So if the arm rest is down, it simply looks like a regular arm rest when looking in the car. :) Quite nice.
Did you get to drive your car on Momentums test track? When my wife bought her Saab 9-5 there in 99 it was still being built. also, were you able to do any dealing with momentum? when I was shopping back in Apr 01 to order a 330I they gave me the "we don't sell under sticker " BS, so I went to Temple and saved about 2 grand.:D

No, didn't get to drive on the test track. But I was in a hurry when I picked the car up. I signed the papers in 10 minutes, got my keys and I left. Didn't have time for much else (had to make it to class on time).
As far as negotiating....Momentum didn't do much, until there were problems with my original order. :) Temple? Where is that? Are they still in business?

My husband went to Momentum to test drive a car and they treated him like he was beneath them. He told them that he was looking at cars for me and they told him in order for him to test drive the car, I needed to be there since I was the one that would be getting the car. Needless to say we took our business to Advantage BMW in Clearlake. They were very nice there and were more down to earth-not so snobby. There is something about Houston though in that they will not sell below MSRP. Next time we will probably make a 3 1/2 hour drive to Temple. Sorry about the rambling.

Hmm...if they give good deals, I'll drive to Temple. Where's it @? And my salesman @ momentum (John Pham) was very helpful. I enjoyed working with him.
Garyln Shelton is the dealer in Temple (1 hour north of Austin). I called Sandy Neiberding and did my deal over the phone, ED delivery and OC paper work where all done by fax. When My car arrived in July they sent a driver from Temple to Houston to pick me up (about 150 miles, one way). They also own Fred Brown in College Station as well.

Now that's customer service! My salesman gave me a loaner car 3 weeks before my order arrived. So I was driving a 540i for 3 weeks. :) Was nice!
