Just called Dinan asking how do I get that Dinan 3 badge since I qualify for it. Asked about the tranny software and he told me that it would be months, possibily SIX months before its ready. They have it for some early 330s which is why I guess they posted it on their site. My car was built in September/October of 2000. I also asked about future mods, but he said their focus is now on the M3 and that he doesn't foresee any additional items available for the 330. Damn! From what I've read, this software makes a noticeable difference and I use the Manual Mode of my steptronic 99% of the time and I definitely notice the lag time.

i have spoken to my regional sale rep, some dork who speaks like phillip seymour hoffman in "talented mr. ripley".
he rudely told me that there isn't any point for dinan to invest in making mod's for non M cars because their research shows that only M owners modify cars.
and this is the official party line, too. so although bob is someone i'd like to throw off the roof for his past un-helpfulness while tuning my coupe, the entire corporate credo reeks of this.
so, i can't say i'm surprised. i really hate dinan, but the tuner in st.louis that i really have a great relationship installs dinan stuff. grin and bear it.

Ya, we had Steve Dinan himself up here to meet with our club and he said the same thing. He claimed he has too much 323/328 stuff collecting dust on the shelves and will not continue for the 325/330 and future models.
All he will make for non-M cars is the suspension/ CAI/ chips/ exhaust.
Guess I won't be shopping at Dinan anymore...his loss and some other companies gain.

On the good side Turner motorsport has dumped the E36s for E46 325s. I wrote them and they will be selling the parts developed for the race cars...COOL! 325 goodies!

Yea but what other company... re. tranny sw.?
Also, do you have a site for Turner?
TIA
BTW, what do you think of the titanium inserts idea for your car?

I've met him on several occasions myself. he's an incredibly nice guy with a pasion for what he does.
the parts are collecting dust because they don't do much for our cars, not even for 323/328's (flame on).
All he will make for non-M cars is the suspension/ CAI/ chips/ exhaust.
yeah, all of the items that are quick and easy to bring into production. oh, and high profit as well. it's a wise business decision and one I'd probably make as well if I were in his shoes.

that makes two of us. I was highly disappointed with the miniscule gains I got after leaving my car at Dinan for 3 months of "developement" work. while I don't think that's Dinan's fault, I do believe that they had a notion up front of what to expect and failed to inform me.
I doubt any other company will step up and dig into the non-M cars where Dinan left off. there's simply nothing left to gain these days unless you supercharge or turbocharge. with the primary cats placed where they are, a turbo may be out of the question.

Turners link is: Turner Motorsport (http://www.turnermotorsport.com)
I'm kicking around the idea of the inserts, thanks for the link.
I found a pic of an M with clears and I like the look.
Yes, Steve Dinan is a very nice guy to talk to. It just seems a bit nearsighted to just go after the M cars when there are far more non-M cars on streets and many with mods (not everyone can afford an M) I'm not going to tell him what to do with his company though, it's his cash.
I don't know of any other company that does the tranny software but I gotta admit I don't really look since I have a 5 speed.

Too true, He also said they were going to go to Aluminum on the CAI because the CF is costly and they don't get the profit from it.
They may continue to carry it but at a higher price.
