!!!!!! ***** Drops Below 1 RPM & Stalls ***** !!!!!!!

Ive had a problem with my bmw e34 520i M20 petrol, when idle it drops below 1 RPM and stalls in seconds, this is really annoying problem and the only way i keep the car going is by keeping my foot on the pedel so it stays above one. When you start the engine it goes to 1 RPM then drops below it, doesnt stay contstent on 1 RPM ??? anyone know what could be the problem or a fix for it ? thanks

Hey, i have a 1995 525i. I had the same exact problem with mine. When I would come to a stop I had to put my foot on the brake and gas to keep the RPM's up. :mad: It turned out to be a simple idle adjustment. The car's idler somehow got outa whack. :dunno: Hope that helps.

Had the same problem with my 92' 525iSE AT. Check the breather pipe running into the engine right underneath the manifold. It is a flexible rubber hose that may slip off over time. Mine slipped off after backfiring when started. Please do this with the engine absolutely cold. Hope this helps. Was so p-off I bought a E39 530d two days later.
