Does the 2006 version have chrome slats for the front grille ?? On the site it does, but i havent seen any with them.

AFAIK, only the 545 gets the chrome grill slats.

Yes, order the grill parts from www.pacificbmw.com It should be plug and play.

This is akin to the E39. Only the 540s (sports, I think) and M5 got the chromed slats for the grill. The 525/8s and 530s got flat black slats. It was a simple pop 'n play to put the chromed style in.

This was probably one of the first mods I did to my 530i waaaay back when. Heck, I even got the grills from my fellow moderator Propellerhead...before he took mod duties here.... :)

Pacific BMW does not have the grill for the new 5 series....anywhere else i can buy this grill at....thanks for all the help

If you don't mind it not being OEM, you can buy aftermarket chrome grills on eBay. Also, here's a link to an interesting method by lombard0 where you stick on tape that looks like chrome:

That was one of the changes in 2006, chrome grill with chrome slats (same as 545i).
