I went to their website and then went to distributors or retailers and just browsed around for a bit between the different options, they all have basically the same price, unless one is having a sale, I think there are 3 or 4 online retailers/distributors.
You work there?! Hahaha, no way!! I forget who told me they shut it down, I figure that'd be a stupid thing for San Francisco to do. My former roommate who had a house with me here in Albuquerque just moved back to Los Altos/Mountain View which I know is around there, somewhere. I'd pay him a visit too if he wasn't being such an a$$, although he too was an auto enthusiast and had this nasty E30, among other things. That'd be amazing, I'll keep you updated and scour some calendars for days I can get out of here. Might not be til next year when my vacation replenishes here at work, since we only get two weeks per calendar year, but around that time for sure!
That would be awesome, man, I'll definitely keep you updated. That road trip would be cake compared to what we just did on a two week vacation (granted, this was in her brand new Corolla); drove here, to Myrtle Beach, SC...to Boston, and then to NYC, and back. We logged a good 4K miles on that car in just under two weeks, hahaha. I love traveling, I just never get enough chances/have enough money to do it!
Do they still give tours of Alcatraz anymore, or no? I've heard from someone they shut it down completely...that's always a cool (albeit touristy) thing to do in San Fran!
hahahaa no doubt although southern california does have the superior weather >< lol
I can heavily relate to seeing scrapers before nice cars as well, grew up in that EXACT world haha (small small mountain town in the Sierra Nevada's, 75 people... my first car was an e30 and people shat their pants over it because it was probably 1 of 2 bmws within a 50 mile radius haha)
If you do ever decide to come out let me know, I may be able to house you guys for a couple of nights and cut down on your costs I was hoping to be able to help some people out (like amber and steve) this past week so they could come out for Chads Minibimmerfest, but my dad was having friends from out of country over so I couldn't.
Yeah dude, my girlfriend and I have been itching to make it out to the Bay Area sometime. I was about 3 or 4 the last time I was there...my mother and her fiance live in LA so I never get to see the superior end of California I'm curious to see how mine holds up for such a long distance...a couple more things I need to take care of, for peace of mind at the very least, haha.
It's strange because New Mexico has perfect weather for maintaining a vehicle...no salt, rarely any rain, etc. It's a great climate to preserve a car as well as work on it at your own leisure. I've seen a few around, but you usually get POS Pontiacs missing paint riding on '24s before you see a nice E36. You see a lot of the newer E90's but 99% of those people aren't really into the cars, moreso the social status, which is just sad especially when I'm drooling over it and wishing for one despite my meager earnings Wouldn't trade her for the world, though! Well...maybe for an inline-6
I thought so too, but I guess not. I'm trying to get more active in these forums again so I can maybe hop on one of your CA meets/rides one day. They look amazing and the BMW enthusiasts here in New Mexico are...well...nonexistant.
