I saw a comment you made when you answered another member query RE buying a used 320Ci 2-door Auto.
'Any noise from the rear diff or vibration from the prop shaft should be looked into, problems also affecting a small number of cars'.
Do you know specifically what the noise might be?
I have a low rumble / vibration at 40mph when the auto box is about to change up.
Changing the Transmission fluid helped for a short period of time.
