Hey man, I joined the Army when I was 17, parents had to sign for me, I knew college wasn't for me. I cant understand that your parents would disown you for doing what you want to do? You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders now, just me talking, but I think you know what you want in life, and I'm all for that. The military has a proud tradition and you sound like you want to be part of it. I don't know if you would like to make a career out of it or not, but regardless, you need to follow your heart. ****, remember what Pat Tillman did? Left the NFL and joined the freaking Rangers. Sad ending though, but regardless, you're a grown man and can make your own decisions. I say go for it, if only for 3 or 4 years and get the GI Bill and go to college then. Sorry for the long rant.
