    Hi Chris,

Question for you. You seem to know a lot about the bmw electrical and I am having an issue with my 330ci 2004. I scraped something and my temperature sensor was knocked off. My mechanic replaced it but his computer he uses could not reset it it, he said, and so it is still not reading the outside temperature. It says 122 degrees F. He also said that he could only reset my cars overall computer and not the accessory area which controls this temp sensor. The Check Engine light is on and will not go off. My mechanic has suggested I go to a specialist but I've already spent several hundred fixing the mudflap, and labor, etc.

Some other bmw car guys said that my mechanic had a generic computer and not a bmw specific one and that I could reset my car's "ECU" by disconnecting the battery. I tried that this weekend, and could not even do that. I feel like a retard! By now you can tell I am a girl! I read your posts before, can Autozone read the code and reset the Check Engine light and computer?

Any help is appreciated. THANK YOU!!
    D
