Lol, see, I lucked out. The previous owner put the engine in the car. His friend blew the engine by money shifting while he was sleeping in the passenger seat on the way back from NOPI in 9/04.
That was one of the main reasons why I bought that car. I don't race the car much to at all. I'm on court supervision. However It totally pulls harder. I wouldn't ever recommend buying the engine unless you have to get a new engine.
If willing to drop about ten grand. Turbo it, but make sure you get it done at a very good shop. Are you near Illinois? I know a place.
I'm getting my car dinoed pretty soon. I'll PM you the results or something.
whoa whoa whoa, you weren't kidding when you said it wasn't cheap eh... lol. 8large...
if you don't mind my asking, they said the engine was 8k, what was the total cost of engine/installment when you were finished, and is/was it worth it? Do you smoke other m's? (sorry for all the questions, very curious and seriously debating this option, looks like a real winner)
So 20% more hp eh... that is pretty damn good! for a stock 2.5 that's over 36 horses, sweet i'm going to go check all that out right now, did they install yours or did you yourself?
It's not quite just a built engine. I just didn't have enough room to write everything in my sig. The engine I have in my car is a Remanufactured S50 engine From Bavarian Auto Recycling, with the performance upgrade. Here's what they say about it on their site, and it really is not cheap.
If you're looking to get more power out of your BMW, then upgrade to our Performance Option and increase your horsepower by 20%. hey Ianiac, how much did it cost to get your motor "built" and what exactly goes into that process? ...what do you "get" from that procedure?... my engine is not granting me very much confidence as of late and I'm very curious about my options.
hey how do you like that jb flwheel and do you have the euro m3 clutch also? my throw out bearing went out last night so im gunna get a new lightwheight clucth and flywheel, since the tranny will be out. did you get your car into hin?
Hey man, yes it's mine and it is a VIS Euro R hood. I should be posting up pictures of the car pretty soon. I've been doing so much to it. Should be done by early July. Cause it's going to be in Hot Import Nights. So I better have it done...
