Hows your cycling going? It's been soooo hott humid around here these days... ughhh. If I don't run by 6-7am I don't even bother running outside. ...it's not as bad riding in it at least, but I could deal with a little less humidity!

I expect he had a good time, weather has been great but looks like it is going south for a few weeks. Managed 5,282mi for 2008 on my bike, pretty happy with that. 2009 looks pretty good, hope you had a good new year

I got a bad cold last week so Thursday was my last day on the bike and now it has been raining the last two days. Tomorrow I have to fly to Austin for a couple of days so I will have been off for a week. I get crabby when I don't ride and start feeling fat. Maybe it will be dry this afternoon and I can get out for 20mi.

Triathlon sounds like fun although my swimming leaves a lot to be desired. It was actually so windy a week or so a go I decided to go for a 3mi run. I had not really been running for over a year and I could not believe how much my legs were sore after. Endurance was good from the bike but different muscle use.

Been on the bike much these days? I've been slacking a bit...but have to start doing some training now. I was playing tennis with a neighbor friend, and he totally annihilated me, so I challenged him to a sprint triathlon! I have two weeks to get back on my A-Game.

I loved sailing in Chicago, the lake was so big and also agree that single handed is a lot more fun. I lived in San Fransisco for ten years and my boss has a 40' Pearson, its was a beautiful boat but you really needed someone else to sail with, managing the sails and steering really required four hands. I also have not been on a sail boat for about 10 years and miss it a lot, hope to get back to it sometime. Neither of my kids are active athletically, go figure, my ex was a shopper though so they must have her genes.

Really? That's awesome! I grew up sailing in Sarasota and Venice. Started in Optis, then moved up to Laser- I love that boat. I sailed for USF too. I was never much of a fan of double handed sailing, the laser seemed like the best fit for me. I miss it a lot, and haven't been back in the boat in several years.

EEK! A 15 y/o...just wait until she starts driving that precious 335 of yours!!!! Does she ride too? I wish I had started earlier in life!!!

I could do a Thule roof rack but I hate to mess up the lines of the car when I transport the bike so few times. Your right I am not going to do a hitch on my 335i lol. My main reason for the 4dr was a divorce and I have my 15yo daughter living with me. No way I could get her and her friends in my roadster. I love the 335i.

I would love to ride with you if I get up that way. The invitation is mutual so if you get down to Miami let me know and we will set something up. Btw are you a sailor too? I use to have a 22' Southcoast when I lived in Chicago and sailed quite a bit on Lake Michigan.

I recently put a Saris hitch rack on... I always had Thule racks before this... I really like it... http://www.saris.com/p-298-thelma-2-bike.aspx Obviously you're not going to hitch your car, but I've been impressed by Saris, in general, so far!

Um... 50 is nothing! I'm been really surprised by the more aged individuals kicking some serious ass on the bike rides!!!

You'll have to let me if you ever end up in the Tampa Bay area...I'll give you the skinny on the St. Pete Bike Club rides! Great group rides!

Well, 28mph is just a few miles at a time the average is probably around 25mph. My daily 20mi ride I avg 19-20mph so I do Ok for a 50yo but after trying racing crits a couple of times I have no illusion about my abilities. I use to run but my knees just don't take it any more so riding and weights is all I do.

I use to have a 350Z roadster so the 335 has a lot more room but to date I have only put the bike in the back seat which is not optimal. I have thought about getting a Saris rack but I am concerned about scratches, my buddy I ride with has a roof rack on his car so if we really need to go somewhere he drives. Most of my rides and groups I can get to on the bike.
