You absolutely do need 17's to switch to M3 brakes, and 17's even barely clear them. There is no room between my stock calipers and stock 17" DS1s.

Oh sorry, I thought you were asking me if M3 calipers will work on your car.
Yes, M3 rotors will fit on your car just fine, but I'm pretty sure you'll have to use M3 calipers as well. M3's use considerably larger front rotors than non-M E36's.

They can work on your car but you'll need bigger rotors, and bigger wheels. Probably 17's at least.

The main reason I'm posting here though is to ask if you might have some free time this week to meet up with me. I'm on vacation from work for the week and trying to fix a bunch of **** in my car and need to try a working dimmer switch in my car to see if my switch is faulty (no gauge/dash lights). I don't mind driving to you, I just really need to check this out so I know if this 75$ dollar part from the dealership will actually solve my lighting issues.
