Yes, after Oktoberfest we headed north to Heidelberg, which was very pretty. After that we went west to Cologne. There wasn't a whole lot to see there as it had been almost entirely bombed during the war. We did stay at the Dom Hotel right next to the cathedral which was quite nice. We also had an amazing Michelin 3 star meal at Vendome. Next we went south and spent part of the day at the Nurburgring. We rented a prepped car and got all of 4 laps in before two accidents closed the track. Never got a chance to get the 135i onto the Ring. Oh well, the Ring was amazing anyway. Next we headed down through the Pfalz wine region and then into Switzerland (which is pretty but pretty boring). We spent a few days in Lyon which is really an amazing old city. I'd love to go back there. Finally we made it to Nice which sucked completely. It's a busy, polluted large touristy city with a few nice museums, but that's it. Realizing the mistake, we relocated quickly to Cannes which is very nice and took some drives around the maritime alps and found many amazing villages built into the hills. These villages were 700+ years old and were one of the highlights of the trip. I'd love to go back there and explore more. Overall it was a fantastic trip and the car was quite amazing too. I should have it here sometime in early December.

It was nice meeting you, too.
The road trip was great. I stayed in Munich over the weekend for Oktoberfest, then drove across Czech on my way to Dresden. Over the next few days I made my way across Germany visiting Berlin, Braunschweig, Dusseldorf and Cologne before heading into Belgium. I stayed two days in Brugges, then went to Paris where I dropped the car off for shipping. I saw a lot of things, met a lot of people, and had a fantastic time.
How about you? As I recall you were heading for Nice?
