Greetings everyone. Bought a new 320i in 81 it was a work horse, when the fourth kid came along we grew out of it. Now in 2010 almost overnight I have four bimmers to care for. Oy Evay A few years ago I went down to west Palm and set my son up with a used bimmer at a reputable dealership. We financed it and he paid us back. A few months ago he tells me is indicating an overheating situation. I tell him to let it cool down and check the fluid and add them to a cold system in the morning. When he asked me where the radiator cap was I new I was in trouble.Up until recently he had a full coverage policy. Well long story short he ,rather than add fluid, he had it flatbedded to a dealer near-by. Over the phone they told me that he had overtempt and the engine could be damaged. In addition there was a hole in the reservoir. I was also told that before they could evaluate the engine it would cost one G to replace the reservoir and hoses. My impatient son saw another bimmer on the lot that he liked. They would only give him 1500bucks for his 03 325i 74Kmiles. He went and bought the car and financed it himself. He got the entire package, rims, tires, etc. I had an old school chum from boca drive it to his place. He head a new reservoir installed. Total 250 bucks. I drove it home to upstate NY without a problem. I did find a weepage at the sensor on the lower hose. All I need is a part number for this temp sensor so I can order it locally. I love this website
