I recently received a gift of my old 2000 528I from my youngest son after he purchased a new car. Started the BMW up. drove around the block, and the car was running like crap. Did a visual inspection first and immediately noted a sensor, on the end of a harness, laying there, connected to NOTHING. Looks a lot like a coolant sensor of some sort but there is no water loss anywhere. The kid had a lot of "friends' help work on the car during the time he had it so I am looking for a threaded socket where this is supposed to thread in. Took off most of the air induction stuff(its on the driver's side of the engine) as well as the power steering reservoir. Cannot find the location anyplace. If I can figure out how to post pix I'll attach them to this message. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

If anyone can instruct me in posting my pix I'd really appreciate that as well. Currently I have a couple in JPEG format. Thanks!
