Hi, Help me get moving again. My key cylinder is jammed or the steering wheel is? I heard that I could drill a hole to release a spring to get it working again. It was on a 90's BMW though I have an 87 528 E. Will that still work?
I don't know, but if you look at an exploded view on www.RealOEM.com you may get an idea of where to drill. The "turning" ignition switch is a well known problem with these cars. You may want to do a search at the www.Mye28.com forum fo more info.
If the steering wheel is locked you might try moving it clockwise and counter-clockwise as you turn the key in the ignition switch towards the "on" position.
