645 iDrive programmable button
 

My 645, along with some other models has a programmable steering wheel button which can be customized to the driver's needs. Although I have had the car for fifteen months, I have never programmed it. Does anyone actually use this feature, and ,if so, for what?.

There are 2 programable buttons on mine. I use one for turning the Air recirculation thingy on/off and another for switching between CD and Radio. The last one i find usefull since i don't have to go trough the whole iDrive to switch to radio or CD.

I use mine to have the navigation system repeat the last instructions and to switch between FM /AM/ Weather radio and CD player. If you go into vehicle settings you will find the options for the buttons.I think you have about 6 options to choose from.
