Look What Followed Me Home

Well, that's what I told my wife anyway.

An opportunity came up to trade my 2004 E60 Sport for a 2006 E61 MSport and I went through with the deal. The Msport rides smoother than the E60 sport package (may be the different brand of RFT, suspension or both). In hindsight, the E60 was a great ride for 22 months.

Now that I have it, I love Carbon Black, especially in bright sunlight. Should not be any harder to keep clean compared to the Saphire Black on the E60.

Going in on Monday for the ipod interface kit to be installed.

Many thanks to Neill and Shef at Calgary BMW.

Nice! :)

(The dripping sound you hear is my drool hitting the keyboard).

Gawd, I wish BMWUSA would allow us to get the E61 MSport. What a gorgeous ride!

Carbon black is my favourite. How much extra you have to pay for the carbon black? btw, very nice ride.

Carbon Black is part of the Msport package in Canada. It is not available as an optional color.

And yes Mason, it will be nice for a trip to Banff but not this weekend though, forecast is for snow in the mountains over the next several of days.

AD - thanks again for your continued support!!

How noticeable is the valvetronic motor vs. your last car?

Is that photo taken somewhere near the Max Bell arena? Nice Calgary tourism ad...

SantaBimmer 09-14-2006 06:57 AM

Nice ride ademitt. It's a versatile car - even more so with M. Good looker in the black too.

You're in Calgary -- I just booked a week in Panorama. Have you been?

There is a marked difference in the smoothness in the motor. I found the engine in the E60 to have more torque in the mid range but it could be the extra weight I'm feeling.

Yes indeed about at 3 hour drive from Calgary depending on weather and roads. When are you here, skiing or golfing?

Mister Chow 09-14-2006 08:04 AM

Wow, very nice.

I'm not a fan of the Bangle generation of BMWs but I may have to revise my opinion.

Have fun in Panorama. Its great up there. May be snow happening right now as the weather here has been crappy for the past two days.
Grey Wolf is a beautiful golf course there as well.

I'll be there Feb 24 thru March 3. Boarding. I've been to Whistler - I hear the snow is a little lighter in Panorama.

BBBMW 09-14-2006 01:42 PM

Head to Lake Louise and Banff......

BBBMW 09-14-2006 01:43 PM

Sorry I missed you!!!

Yes, this weather is terrible especially since the summer was dry and warm. I am not looking forward to the wet snow on Friday.

BBBMW 09-14-2006 02:05 PM

Me either.....supposed to be in our mens closing golf tourney this weekend. Might need my fur lined golf gloves:rofl:

The powder is in general far lighter and drier - they call it "champagne" powder. Whistler gets the majority of the press, but being on the coast it definitely can be wetter powder....

The apres-ski life is better in the village in Whistler for sure - albeit commercialized and expensive.

Driving or flying?

If you don't mind a bit of driving, I would recommend Lake Louise, Kicking Horse (Golden), and Sunshine (Banff), probably in that order. The scenery at Louise is unparallelled. All of these hills are max 2 hr drive from Invermere.

And if you are near Field at lunch or suppertime, stop in at the Truffle Pigs Bistro in Field. The meals there are amazing

And next season, book your week at Fernie!! You can ski there and the Big Mountain in Montana at Whitefish.....

gbelton 09-14-2006 08:54 PM

Wow

Very nice.
