ignition switch
 

I just recently bought an '82 320i for restoration. We had it running..briefly. Now when we turn the key there is nothing except a click in the fuse panel on the right fender wall. Any suggestions?

Regarding the problem, is the battery ok? That would be my first thought.

hello I have had that problem with my 83 320i and it happend when I was about 75 miles from home and all I had to do was tap on the starter with a hammer handle a couple of times and it started when I got home I put in a new starter and have not had a problem since.
