1978 325I converted European model

Bought this car 2 years ago and have enjoyed the 'ride'. I've been able to do
basic maintenance myself, but recently have been experiencing 'cold start'
problems - what do you think?

I am aware of the e21 323I engine, but what 2.5l engine did you convert to?
