New 650i Owner - Question re: Washer fluid
First time poster in this forum but long term BMW owner - just picked up my 2006 650 Barbera Red Metallic over Black Leather and I have a question - my windshield washer fluid keeps freezing up in the tank or tubes somewhere on the way to work in the morning -- anyone else experience this problem? Only seems to occur after the high speed run on the highway...
This has never happened on any of my prior BMW's and was wondering if it was just a design issue as the tank is placed right under the front bumper next to the wheel well... I did a search and nothing came up on this issue. Please don't tell me not to drive the 6 in the winter -- it's just too much fun to let her just sit there - it was meant to be DRIVEN! |
the dealer cheaped out and used water in the system instead of washer fluid... and the 2 got mixed causing the fluid to lose it's freeze protection...
flush all the fluid out completely empty then use winter grade washer fluid to replace... I know it uses more than a gallon.. not sure exactly how much... I would buy 3 gallons just to be sure... |
That could be possible but it was a reputable BMW dealer but you never know. I think I will flush it and see how it goes this weekend...

ive only seen 1 other 6 same color and it was a Vert pretty unique a pain to keep clean tho

Yeah - but when it's clean - it's like nothing else out there. Take one of the best looking coupes ever and put this color on it and it was impossible to resist - at least for me!

If it freezes has to be water.
