Ultimate Driving Event $1000 Allowance !!! look here
If you are in the market for a new BMW , look to see if you can attend an ultimate driving event . all you need to do is to register and go drive any bmw and you will get $1000 allowance towards your new car ... offer ends Sept. 30 ....
|
Great reminder.
Between the eco credit, ultimate driving allowance, & the federal $1,800 tax credit you are looking at a minimum savings of $7,300 off MSRP on a 35d before any price negotiations at all. |
Federal tax credit doesn't work if you lease - although BMW CCA of 1k does if you've been a member for a year! :)
Good time to buy. |
the 1k helped for me.....wish I knew about that other 1k off!!
oh well. I recommend everyone take advantage of this |
Did I miss the boat?

Call 1-866-900-4269 and ask them about upcoming events.
|
so I'm scheduled to attend a driving event in the DC area next Weds night, and my car is being shipped and should arrive at my dealer by the end of next week. I just let my CA know I attended the event and provide him with the paperwork and dealer takes the $1k off the final sales price or is it a rebate I have to fill in?
|
You won't make it. After you attend the event, you will get an email with a unique discount code, but it takes the email about 1 week to arrive (1 week from the day you attend the event).
How they do it is lets say you are financing and you are putting 10k down payment, you give them the email and they change the down payment to 11k instead, it's very simple and straight forward, no rebate, nothing to fill in, nothing to wait for.... |
I'll hold off on taking delivery one week. I travel a lot for work and only home on Friday/weekends. Thanks for the info though.
|
One of the dealers on here said that as long as you have attended the event, the dealer can call BMW and verify your attendance - even if you haven't gotten your code yet, that should be enough to get the credit in the meantime.
I'm sure they'll figure out how to do it if it means them waiting an extra week or not :). |
I missed out by a week on this after I had already taken delivery....

I showed up for the Ultimate drive event yesterday at 4 PM. I was given the $ 1000 rebate an hour later towards the purchase price. I was asked to provide the "rebate code" once I received it from BMW NA

Incentive is Not easy to get
Quote:
It seems to me the program is not well intentioned for those of us unable to get to a drive event. I think the basic idea of a test drive is to get current owners or prospective owners out to drive a new BMW and create some excitement and interest to sell a new vehicle. Unfortunately the program becomes discriminate when the majority of buyers aren't privy to the opportunity. The Ultimate Drive Event is promoted on the BMW NA website- its a national program- but available to few. IMO, provisions should have been made for interested buyers to visit a dealer, test drive a vehicle and still qualify for the incentive, which I am sure is subsidized by BMW NA. I own more than one BMW vehicle, and am not happy with how they handled this program. The lack of loyalty to current owners has turned me off. I was shopping for a new X5, and prepared to shell out $65 grand, but I will now look harder at the Q7- the Touareg, and even closer at the new 2011 grand cherokee which is honesty a real 4x4 SUV, the interior and build quality has gone way upscale and comes with every thing a fully optioned X5 does for about $25,000 less. So for a 1,000 bucks- and a poorly executed program, BMW will likely be loosing this customer:thumbdwn: |
I called BMW yesterday to find out where they still have this. I was told that it is only in NY state till next week. A friend of mine missed it before so he is planning to go to Endicott, NY on Monday from NJ. It is about 180 miles but he is saving $1000 so I guess it is worth it.
|
I'm from NYC and I attended the UDE last week, all the way up at Orange County BMW. I was told by the reservation rep that Orange County was the last dealer in the tri-state area holding the event.
Keep in mind that the UDE has been going on since April, and supposedly ends sometime in September. Lastly, you must take delivery of the new vehicle before 9/30 or the coupon code becomes useless. |
