97 740iL - Lower timing chain tensioner replacement

This is a really silly question. Which way does the loewr timing chain tensioner screw into the engine. Does the extendable part face the inside of the engine, or does that face the 19mm bolt?

Should look just like I have them on the table, it's in TIS, note the one on top has a short spring (old) and the bottom has a longer spring along with updated grove at tip.... Another silent BMW upgraded part.... Gota love when they fix a design issue, they just slip the new one in there!

HELP!

Does anyone have the procedure for timing the pre-vanos M62. I'm confused. I can only find literature on M62 with Vanos.

I know its more simple, but I just want to be really clear.

Any help appreciated.
