Weight Distribution for the X5
 

Anyone know what the weight distribution is on a X5 3.0i?

49% Front
51% Rear

I'm pretty sure it's a nearly-exact 50:50

Interesting...I was wondering if this was the case since the AWD is split 62/38 (or is it 68/32?) rear/front, and I didnt see the battery in the back like in others.

It seems like most/all BMWs are this well balanced, I guess that is part of what makes them drive so well! :)

I'm not sure what the front to rear torque split is exactly, but it's intended to give the X5 a rear wheel drive feel. You guys are essentially right on the weight distribution, BMW always strives to be near 50/50. The X5 (based on the latest brochure) is 48.1/51.9 (F/R) 3.0 Auto, 48.6/51.4 3.0 Manual and 49.7/50.3 4.4 Auto. Emission basically had it right.

The X5 feels more solid in the turns with 2 passengers in the back :thumbup:

The battery in my 2003 X5 3.0 is most definitely in the back. There's a jumping spot under the hood, but the battery is in the back.
