Nice man. Good bright and new looking. Did you take them off the heads or leave them on? I want to do mine as well.

They had to be removed. It was 2 to 4 hours of labor can't remember exactly. Then my mechanic charged me $180 to sandblast and repaint them.

Money to burn! Looks nice.

My mechanic was doing so much other repairs that I mentioned why not remove the cylinder head covers. The whole reason behind it was to repaint them and to go ahead and replace the gaskets for the cylinder head covers, instead of waiting for them to fail. Plus I am very good friends with my mechanic so he didn't charge us that much. Just the other day an M5 came in with a coil problem and my mechanic said to the owner the first thing we need to do is hook up my computer to it. He said that would be $180, but the funny part was that just a few weeks ago I had to get his computer to read my car, which he only charged me $100 to do.

Don't you have to lower the rear of the engine to get the valve covers off. I want to repainted mine when I do some other things as well in that general area. Must be the ricer still in me but I want mine painted wrinkle red. Or I could polish them out like I did on my Honda.

I don't think the engine has to be lowered. Just look around on the Internet and you should find lots of DIYs. I even seen one repainted in red, it was pretty nice.
