2004 X5 Navigation screen fading lines

I have a 2004 X5 and the lines the screen is dying out with permanent white lines appearing throughout the screen. It gets worse as time goes by. Does anyone know how to fix this or reboot it.

Same problem here, dealer tells me it's life span is 5 years. Time for a replacement, but they're 2K. Pass. Looking for a used one right now....

Thanks to Propellerhead

Hey,

I following your advice and ordered the LCD. Thanks to your detailed pictures and directions I was able to fix my radio for less than $200! For anyone attempting this you have to be very particular about the connections and the reinstall. I actually had to take things apart and put them back together, it took time and patience. The end result is a like new Nav screen that functions perfectly!
