Leather Cleaner
I have oyster in my 35i and I wear jeans 99% of the time........ No problems whatsoever for months. But careless me bought a new pair of darker jeans a month ago and worn it for two weeks straight before washing it for the first time, so now I notice blue dye all over the seat in high contact areas esp. edges and corners where the jean rubs against when I get in and out.

So I am looking to get some strong but safe leather cleaners to rub the dye off. Any recommendations fellow X5ers??

Haven't had that happen, but I've heard it can be a problem. As I also have oyster leather, I'd like to know a good cleaner, too. I wipe mine down weekly with a damp cloth, but sooner or later, I know I'll need something stronger (and safe!). Dealer has bottles of BMW cleaner at the parts dept, wonder if it's worth it?

lexol

Lexol :thumbdwn:

Used to use it until I started using Zaino - love their leather cleaner and conditioner. Very very easy to use, takes jean blue off like nothing - even removed ink from a pen that lexol would not touch. You should also grab a small leather brush to make it easy to work the dirt out of the grain. is the only place you can get it though, you can't go to the corner auto parts store for it.

Zaino. Leather in a bottle! Works like a charm.

Zaino it is then, thanks dudes!

p.s. isn't Lexol the villain in toy story 3? lol!!!!

If you're new to Zaino, try the ultimate protection show car kit. They have many good products besides leather cleaner.

I checked out their website. Which is the better cleaner? Leather In A Bottle or the Soft Leather Cleaner?

I used Z10 'Leather in a Bottle' to treat my leather before I got stained/soiled. It is really good stuff, no residue at all, no jean stains.

I would assume the Z9 Leather Cleaner is just what it says, a non-abrassive cleaner for stains.

I'd say get and use both.

You want both, Leathersoft Cleaner Z-9 is to clean, Leather in a Bottle Z-10 to Condition and make your car smell better than new!

Thanks, I'll order both this weekend. With oyster leather, it's going to be just a matter of time before I need it.

I never use actual leather cleaner on the leather, makes it oily. And it doesn't come oily from the factory. I was given a solution of woolite (10 parts water, 1 part woolite). Put in a spray bottle, and mist it onto the seat, and clean off with a microfiber towel. The seat will feel brand new, and not feel oily. I can't stand oily leather. After 4 years in my 335i, it still looks brand new.

Zaino doesn't leave them oily, but the woolite is a good solution for cleaning dirt off the seats also and i have had it work wonders for stained seat belts also.

Has anyone tried leatherique? I have been using it on my Ferrari for years. It has a cleaner and conditioner. Absolutely no oily residue. It claims it actually soaks into the pores of the leather and conditions it.
