22 is the best so far.

Maybe a bit heavy on the foot...?

goosefoot33 06-25-2011 08:44 AM

I have hit 24.5 on a 5-hour drive on the highway, other than that, a consistent 19.5 mixed city/highway... not the greatest, but oh well!! :roundel:

ThoreauHD 06-25-2011 09:32 AM

19-25 mpg. But with 93 octane and a jim conforti chip.

rdc 06-25-2011 12:48 PM

I am getting around 12 mpg suburban driving in a 1990 535i 5 speed. Obviously something I need to figure out. It runs very rich. So far I have replaced the plugs, wires and distributor cap and rotor as well as the catalytic converter. These items got me up from 8 mpg at least.

Is the MAF unplugged?

Bullmoose 06-29-2011 03:54 PM

The MAF is Plugged in and the car dies if I unplug it

A While ago I swapped it with another unit and experienced no change.

I do need to check the throttle position switch.

I have not found any vacuum leaks.
