Mine was put on the train on over the weekend. ;)

Due here in CA I am guessing a week.

I was told today I would receive the X5d in 5-7 business days. :D

When was it Status 150?

Well, it started production on Sept 24 so that would be 150.

My estimation when I spoke to BMW on Sept 30 was that it had just finished, but she could not say if it was 155 or 160. But she did say "Production is complete"

Dealer told me on Monday that it was "on the train". I am not sure if that means it is moving and on the train, OR it is consigned to a future train. We shall see.

Historically I've seen 7-9 days for the train ride.

Mine went Status 150 today... and I live about 10 minutes from the Oxnard VPC. So, we talking 4 weeks?

So, what is the estimate from start of production to delivery on the West Coast?

So it should finish production in 5 days. So figure Monday. Then if you are lucky it gets on a train quickly, Tuesday, then a week to 10 days, say Oct 19-21. Not sure how they get cars from Oxnard to your dealer, probably run a 'local' truck that shuttles LA cars pretty quickly (unlike Seattle where they will 'bunch' cars that go to only one, two or three dealers.)

Could be the following week if it misses the train.... heck, for all I know mine is still sitting in Spartanburg and will be on the same train...

That's my guess!

Lucky? :eeps: I am in no hurry... slow boat around the Cape would be nice. I just found out I am getting another car for the month of November, so I don't need the X5 until December.

ard, how do you know it's on the train? I think mine finished building the same time as yours, but the phone system currently says mine is "at the port awaiting a shipping vessel. No further information is available at this time." The website still shows the "finishing touches" step. Interestingly, last weekend, the phone system was telling me that it was released to the carrier for shipping. Not sure which status is better. :-)

Online mine says "Scheduled for production" and on the phone it says "Scheduled for production."

However, I have a VIN number... and my dealer says it is Status 150.

Why the discrepancy?

So how come you can schedule the PCD and other people are told they cannot until the certs are done?

Rhetorical question for sure.....

Just got the information that my 2012 X5 35d finished production and is waiting on carrier to get out to the dealer.

Any one knows how long shipping takes usually to Illinois?

Mine is also finished production and waiting tranportation to the dealer. Mine only has to get to Pennsylvania. The race is on!

The car will sit at the Spartanburg VPC until the CARB/EPA certification is complete. I will bet big money they will not release to a carrier prior to that clearance occurring.

As of today, CARB is "under review".

Once on a truck, two days to IL and PA...IMO...another day or two for the dealer to let you know.

greylynn 10-06-2011 10:50 AM

My order was just put in. Supposed to wait until Oct to find out what week of a Dec build we get. My sales rep said she is going to try to get a early week Dec build and maybe we will still get it in Dec. I should just be getting back from Afghanistan on the 19th of Dec and the X5 will hopefully arrive soon after for the wife.

I just emailed the dealer, and my CA said it's scheduled to arrive on Saturday -- but that probably means I can't pick it up until Monday.

Website is not updated simultaneously with dealer/phone info. When I picked up my ride, site still said scheduled for produciton. If you have VIN, should be finished within a few days. Flies from there

dencoop 10-06-2011 12:51 PM

Please let me know when someone finds out ic the certification is complete.
Thanks !
