Dashboard Lights Failed
Jumped in the car today to find that the dashboard lights are out and the rev counter and petrol gauges aren't working. I tried the horn, indicators, windscreen wipers etc. and all of those tings work although no indicator lights registered on the dashboard.
The nav screen and gear indicator lights on the gearstick work, as does the steering wheel heater. I've checked the fuses (the dashboard fuse is in the fuse box at the back of the car), even removed and replaced it, but still no luck. Has this happened to anyone before?
Everything was fine yesterday!?
BMW just advise to bring it in and they'll take a look but they'll likely need it for a couple of days which is a pain as I bought the car from an out-of-state dealership... punishment perhaps.
Thanks for your insights,
I know you've all been pining for the answer to the dashboard lights conundrum - apparently it was a faulty instrument cluster and so is being replaced at the mo'. The lights came on briefly on the way to the dealership but then the dials froze at idling levels and the trip computer went out but the check engine light came on. Should be all fixed by tomorrow.
