License plate light removal--Help!

Hey guys, I'm trying to install some new Umnitza LED lights above my license plate. Problem is I can't get the old bulbs out. No luck in the owner's manual and I've searched this site up and down. What's the best way to remove the old bulbs without breaking anything in there?:dunno:

Use a small flathead scewdriver and just pop/pry them down and out.
