Finally ordered snow tires...
Here in the KC area we don't typically get a LOT of days in the winter with accumulated snow, and with the year's mildness I've been putting off buying snows. Well, the winter weather is now approaching fast and I went in search of tires. Guess what? No one in the KC area carries snow tires 18s or above. No one.
I ended up ordering a set from tirerack.com with rims. They will mount and balance the tires and deliver them sometime next week. Unfortunately, the snow will be here tomorrow... |
Good idea not just for snow but for cold weather, but in your case you can just buy Conti ExtremeContact DWS, or Pirelli P Zero nero, they both ultra high performance all season tires and have a great winter reviews on tirerack too

I'm riding on Turanza all-seasons right now and the one day we had a little snow dusting they seemed to do well, but I'd heard that real snow tires can make a huge difference when there is accumulation so I bought Blizzaks. I'll ride those through March and switch back to the Turanza.
I'm also thinking about picking up a winter beater... |
