2001 z3 3.0 fuse box location?
The lights on my air condition switches are out. I want to check if it's a blown fuse. Where is the fuse box located besides the one under the hood. Thanks for your help.

The fuse box on the z4 is behind the glove box. Try there
|
Pop the switch and check the power to the bulb. Typically if this is the only problem and the switch is still working. ie turns the AC on, then the problem is a burned out bulb.
|
I should also mention. Be very carefull that you do not short out the bulb power contacts. if you do you blow the resistor in the light switch. My cable to my Lighted shift knob shorted out, took out my light switch resistor. Took me a while to diagnose that problem. So I'm just passing on my experience.

1: do you have to remove the glove box ? Or it's beneath the glove box?
2: thanks for the advice man. Everything works fine. All the surrounding lights. You might be right, it could be the bulb. Not looking forward to taking it apart for a bulb haha |
Two screw removes the glovebox. Then the fuse panel is accessible. But again thi is on the z4 I'm just assuming the z3 is the same

Both the AC & Recirc switch are dark, PITA to find at night.
Both light up when depressed. This switch is difficult to disassemble and re-assemble. Some have done so, just to replace burned out light bulbs. So it can be done. Not sure of the price. But being the Cheapo I would try first, then if it doesn't work out. Order and replace the switch.:dunno: |
I'll give it a shot. Thanks
