Tachometer question....
1 Attachment(s)
.. for someone obviously smarter than me.
I've had my M3 for almost two years now. Previously, the white bar in the yellow zone of the tachometer lined up perfectly at 8k rpm when the car is completely warmed up. Lately, the white bar has fallen a tad short of 8k. Has this happened to anyone else? Explanation and significance? Thanks! |
Mine shows the same thing but I just assumed it was because I only have 550 miles on mine and I'm still in the breakin period.
|
is the redline still 8400? or less?
|
As far as I can tell from my picture, if the white bar in the yellow zone is no longer aligned with 8k, then redline is no longer 8400. Maybe it's no big deal. Again, this only started this past week. For the past 1.5 years before this week, the redline seemed to be at 8400.

Is the car at 210*? seems as if the cars wasnt 100% warmed up.
BTW, nothing happens at 1200 miles. Whatever 'break in'/unlocking stuff you read on these forums is garbage. You can redline after warming up the car the first day you get it. |

it could be in the mechanics on how the dial works. Sometimes mine is right on the money, sometime not so much... doesn't have anything to do with the rev limiter so I'm planning on having fun.
