BMW M5 9th on Fortune's 10 cars you don't want during gas crisis list
The F10 M5 due to hit US dealerships mid-August 2012 as a 2013 model year has earned the dubious honor of making the Fortune "10 car you don't want during an gas crisis" list. The M5 earned the 9th spot on the list because of it's fuel economy. The 2013 F10 M5 gets 14 mpg city and 22 mpg highway. Interestingly the twin turbo twin power 560hp V8 in the new M5 is 30 percent more fuel efficent then the outgoing E60 M5, and has more power and torque.
I have a feeling that anyone picking up a M5 with the base price of $90,695 doesn't worry about how often or how much it costs when they fill up.

This article is truly ridiculous. People have a completely warped perspective of how much gas costs, relative to what it's costs to own any car, forget about an M5.
Funny story I had recently.
I was in a taxi in Augusta recently:
Taxi driver: I'm sorry to tell you the rates have gone up by 25 cents per mile today. It's because the increase in gas prices is killing us. Even with the increase, the gas prices are tough for us.
Me: let's do the math. How many miles is this trip?
Him: 12 miles.
Me: How much has the gas price gone up in the last year?
Him: $1 per a gallon.
Me: So if this trip is half a gallon, then you are spending an extra 50 cents to drive me today. Now how much more are you making - you said 12 miles and an extra 25 cents per mile. So you are getting an extra $3.
Him: that's right.
Me: so why are you complaining about gas prices. Seems to me that you have been taking advantage of gas prices to increase your profits?
Him: I had never done the math. Thanks for telling me.
