2011 M3 Comp Package at Sebring Raceway
First day at the track with the M3. Had a 2008 M3 Covertible Manual. No comparison! The weight difference, balance and DCT in the Coupe are incomparable! Taking her out again next week with stickier tires (Bridgestone RE-11 vs. PZero previously). Enjoy the video.

Love it.
PS welcome to the fest. You can stay. :bigpimp: |
VERY cool video, and nice driving. Thanks for posting!

That Cayman powned you, was it your tires?
|
Thanks. Car is stock and my brakes were fading after a few laps. Plus the stock PZeros are not track worthy.
Also, that is my buddy's Cayman S and pretty quick and track prepped, no longer street legal. Remember, our cars are not quite as svelte and suffer for this in the corners... Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Bimmer App |

Let us know how you faired against him after your new set of shoes! Be safe and thanks for sharing. |
Round 2 at Sebring Raceway...

Best time 2:35 lap, 2nd time at track with the M3 (first track day in the 2:40's). Stock brakes started fading after 3-4 laps and the Bridgestone RE-11's got greasy a few laps after that. But overall, good times were had. |
Sweet. New tires or experience the biggest difference from prior track day?
I am also a FL doc with an M3 and your posts made me want to try a track day. Thanks...I think. |
Mostly tires and better brake fluid. The stock PZeros are garbage on the track. All they do is howl with minimal feedback and turn in. Now the weakest link is the stock pad fade.
Ironically, this is only the second time I've tracked this car. It's my daily driver and is seeing action since my dedicated track car is in hiatus with a set of cracked front rotors. But after this weekend I might take the old lady out more often. Welcome to the hobby/addiction. Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Bimmer App |

Some great driving. Love the sound of the engine...
Also, pretty sure that was the Bee Gee's, "you should be dancing" music I heard over the thunder.... |
Thanks. You have an ear for fine disco. I figured a few good songs which have a good cadence for me at Sebring: Separate Ways, good Disco, most Guns and Roses, and 80's freestyle.
Here's last weekend...it was HOT. http://youtu.be/hoSlfMP-NMM Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Bimmer App |
