Purchasing a 1982 320i....things to look for?

Found a 1982 BMW 320i that I'm looking into purchasing but debating whether or not its worth the work. The car is being sold for $3,000 with about 250,000 miles on it. It's a one owner, and standard transmission, going to be giving it a test drive tomorrow. Is there any things I should be looking for in particular with this model, and to anyone who owns this car, what are some of the major repairs that needed to be done around this time in the cars life?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Body rust is probably the biggest issue. Thats a lot of miles too. Get the engine checked out.
Most everything is available, but $3000 sounds like a lot for this car. I mean there are E36s that are going for that and unlike 2002s , the E21s have never been considered collectable. I mean I owned one for a pretty long time and I like them, but also realistic. For $3000 the car had better be immaculate.
