Get real power out of your E38 exhaust

After doing some research I found that there is an affordable exhaust and I am getting mine done tomorrow. First stop just chopping resonators off your rides to do it right pick up the parts I just bought. 2-1/4 in x exhaust crossover have it welded in place of the center muffler to help keep the torque you loose when you gain flow. buy four sticks of 16 gauge 2-1/4 it comes in four foot sections I might get a way with 3 the IL needs four at 11 bucks each the x cross over is 79 bucks both from summit racing I love those guys. These a similar type exhaust system would be installed on an late model dohc 4.6L mustang . The mufflers should be dual exit magnaflows to keep the noise down as well which you can also purchase from summit. welding and tube building on area around 300 bucks plus the cross over 79 plus about 44 and around 150 for mufflers ebay also is a source. so for around 500-600 bucks you should get at least 20 horsepower as the 4.6 dohc mustangs get that on some at least 25 hp will update you friends later this is way cheaper than Dinan or Remus both over a grand with out install labor. Later on M60 intake dinan TB and a tune from a guy who advertises on here with these mods looking for high 13's and around 340 rwhp and for you guys in West Los Angeles hit me up have a sick Bimmer mechanic locally I trust near Marina Del Rey:)

US and UK V12s 05-13-2012 10:44 AM

Any more updates??? Photos from underneath and video with exhaust sound would be great!!! I've got a 2000 V-12 and want a better exhaust sound but don't want to screw up the V12 power with the wrong mod.
I have had no luck finding anything made for the V12 - any ideas???
Thanks in advance!

Hey for the 750il this is what i did. There was some hp gain which was proven by dynometer runs. I has an x-pipe going to flowmaster super 10s, and the pipe size is 2 1/4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojUT7nPgMbE

Your exhaust sounds great!!!

If you want to see pictures from a lift what the exhaust looks like check out my page http://www.facebook.com/BimmerBoys there is a picture of the exhaust with the car on the lift and anyone in the West Los Angeles area like the page as I have a lot of contacts for parts and service at reasonable prices in my area.

Also tip of the day you can use a generic elbow racing intake on 740s the trick is hooking up the oxygen pump as at idle the MAF sensor needs to read the extra 02 from the pump or CEL will light up I got mine on Ebay a place called racing intakes $50 including shipping the plugged whole needs to be unplugged run rubber hose from pump to hole on intake got rubber fittings and hose at of all places PEP BOYS well NO CEL and runs great next will modify stock air box to fit over intake to get cold air in.

Next check with a guy in Culver City planning to use S62 crank and darton sleeves, CP pistons to get some real HP gonna hurt the wallet but will smile later when it gets built and broken in

7 series guy 09-21-2012 04:31 PM

:) 750 guys since you have almost a liter larger engine use 2 1/2 inch tubing on the this exhaust system build

What about the O2 sensors? How did you get around that? Or did you just put them in the same locations?

dctazz 10-19-2012 05:06 PM

Did you have any other pictures from under the car?

7 series guy 10-19-2012 09:10 PM

The stock exhaust was cut just before the center muffler and ran back with the x over ran under the diff to the rear mufflers.

BMW 3-SERIES 10-24-2012 01:14 AM
