Unknown Flywheel Damage

Looking for some advice from some other pros on how this could of happened.

After getting erros and scanning for codes. I got error
P0339: Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Intermittent

Took it to the dealer and they replaced the sensor under warranty. After they took it for a test drive, got the same error and told me they needed to tear down the tranny.

As you can see from the pics. We dealer and i are at a loss for what happened. They said started and clutch is in tact and so is everything else. Just the flywheel is damaged. It is not missing any teeth. But they are damaged. They state nothing came out when they took it apart. Car has had not work on it in the month i have owned it.

Warranty wont cover it they say it was caused by "outside influenced"

That crank sensor fault will set when ever there's clutch slippage, It is not easy for a rock to get inside the bell housing. I will request dealer to review repair history, do a puMA case, and call aftersales rep for a goodwill warranty.

Were you feeling any clutch slippage, hesitation, and/or vibration on take off etc? Just curious..

Also, You car's year, mileage, and some service history would help ...

To me it looks like a lrg bolt was either left in the housing or on came out of something.Wedging between the housing and flywheel. Hard to believe nothing was found in side the unit.
