Quick question, searched but no def. answer.
 
I have a leaky intake boot and Idle Control Valve hose, since I am going to be replacing both the boot and the hose I was wondering which one I should purchase for the ASC TB delete?

ASC doesn't work on my car nor do I ever plan on fixing or using it anyways, it's a summer/nice weather car.

Would I use the same IAC hose as what come on it and just replace the boot or do I need to order a non-asc IAC hose for it to fit? I have looked everywhere and couldn't find an answer to my question.

My car is a 1998 328I

sounds like good material for your first DIY.
Im OBD1.. So no ASC on my end..
If you're going to the trouble..

Note:Guesstimations.. NOT backed up with evidence.
why not get a silicone boot for a OBD1 since you're deleting the ASC.. then replace the hoses on ICV as necessary, then plumb to boot?

Any OBD2 guys want to chime in with pics or experience?

Actually, I am fairly mechanically inclined when it comes to e36's but I have never really done any "modding" so to speak.
It's an OBD II car, surely someone has removed the secondary ASC throttle body and replaced it with the boot pictured, all I am wanting to know is, can I use the same Idle Air Control valve hose or will it have to be replaced with a different part number (the one that is listed for use with cars that doesn't have ASC?)

There are plenty of ASC delete DIY's.. Search it up.
You can go from there.

ASC? What would you even need it for? Because not racecar, that's for sure

Delete it and pull the bulb in the cluster.

asc is not obd1/2 related. i'm a 95 with asc.

the difference is in the size, iirc. the asc has an additional throttle with a switch added to close off the throttle when the system activates. this requires a shorter radiused boot, i believe. it's not as simple as 'ordering the other one'. i do no know if the diameter of the throttle body is also the same asc/non asc. mine has a rubber ring around the regular throttle, so the asc throttle seals properly.

i also do not know if the isc motor will require a different hose or not as well. :dunno:


since it does not affect driving (much, only when slipping), i say simply leave it unless you are planning on tracking the car. then it gets in the way...
