Back up camera

Since driving a 2012 loaner vehicle while my X5 is getting her sunroof fixed I actually fell in love with the back up camera feature. Yes I have the colorful display that shows yellow, green then red. I am now crazy over the real camera that I have been using. Can I get a camera installed in my X5 to replace the colorful animated one?

What is a "colorful animated camera"? Are you talking about the park distance sensors that show green, yellow and red depending how far you are from obstacle?

If your iDrive is the older version, then no.

Sure he can. It doesn't matter if you've got a CCC or CIC system.

Autozone sells an aftermarket camera for $100. It's not integrated like the BMW one but it might be an option if you can't get the BMW one.
