E36 rtab diy tool pressing issues...just wont go in!

Hey guys, i am using the end cap press tool But when i press, it doesnt go evenly. I lubed it still the same. Any other sugestions? The other side seems to trail behind. Can i hammer this so it will go in evenly? Should i augment my diy tool?
