Looking to get rid of my 75k '01 540i 6spd

Hey all, I have a gunmetal gray w/ black int. 2001 BMW 540i Sport 6spd manual with ~75,500 miles that I'm looking to sell.

I am the second owner

Brand new water pump, flywheel, and clutch

premium sound package

cold weather package

sport package with ///M steering wheel and shift knob

Tranmission is in fantastic shape

radiator and hoses have never been blown (Saw that those two things were some problems people have with the 540i) because the car has never been beat on... But I'm not going to say I never put my foot down.

No accidents

100% stock other than a K&N air filter that I bought just because I figured it was something healthy I could do for the car (I knew it wouldn't really get me any more horsepower)

cupholders still work and have never been replaced because I've never eaten/drank in the car

Car is mechanically in great shape and the interior is flawless

Always changed the oil with full synthetic and oem bmw oil filter

Always put 93 in her

Suspension is fantastic - car is real tight

All in all just a great car, fast, and very attractive.

KBB is for excellent condition - $11,559 - I'm going to ask $12k. Flexible but don't lowball me.

please PM me if interested. Will send you pictures.

I'd probably want to ditch this car too.

Reason 1

Reason 2

Greezer, Idk if you realized this yet, but literally nobody from either bimmerfest or bimmerforums enjoys your company.

Now that I got that off my chest...
So I drove with the e-brake on for 200 yards... first time I've ever done it. It doesn't hurt anything.

Secondly,
I found the solution for your reason 1... it's actually designed to do that when the carbon build up gets to be a little more than normal - the extra cranks burn it off.

If I was selling my e39. If I was intelligent. I would not try to sell it to people who already own one.

Well considering I just had a guy PM me with a 528i I'd say I know what I'm doing. Some people jsut want a faster e39.

tohadamjo 09-29-2012 05:51 PM

Cut the nonsense. We are all here to be educated and have a good time. I'm car hunting and I'm exploring all of my options. We don't need to have a melt down because something was posted in the wrong section of the forums. Its not World of Warcraft here, calm down please.

AnotherGeezer 09-29-2012 05:55 PM

Yes. Cease all shenanigans or thalt shall surely perish!

the540wgn 09-29-2012 06:09 PM

I think a melt down is completely necessary.

Also to note:
I am try to "educate" Mr. Hank on how to be most effective when selling his vehicle.
And I am also having a good time.

and AnotherGeezer knows I cannot stop the shenanigans

AnotherGeezer 09-29-2012 06:12 PM

Must have shananigans or life becomes quite dull.

That's probably the only happiness you've found in a while.

yes. yes you are.

doru 09-29-2012 08:21 PM

So you purchased the car with 9,000, then you mention some weird stuff on your car, trying to minimize it as a carbon-build-up issue, and then ask 12,000?
That's a duche move, if you ask me.

Well first off, it is a carbon build up issue.
And secondly, it's not a douche move - it's called getting a good deal and then turning it around and making money off of it. I just happened to come across a great deal.

Um....
No,no you are not...
Mr. Hank,
You need to show a little respect.
Period...!
Geezer is a seasoned well respected member here, and on the other Forum as well, for quite a while now...
Hank-tank is a new-b.
I think members here do not like to see the other members get "taken".
If there are issues with the car that you are trying to sell, you best be up-front about them.

Out of curiosity, how old are you...?

Thanks!
Jason

Who the heck is Greezer????? The member I know is GEEZER.

You have been a member for less than 30 days, and you make this generalized statement. Did you do a survey of members to come to this conclusion?

If, as a new Intelligent member, you would treat others with respect, you will find it much easier to gain the respect of others on this forum.

Now that I got that off MY chest, good luck with your sale.

Wrong statement and you'll do better selling your car somewhere else.

Same here IF. We older folk are sometime not appreciated for our life experience but we get used to it.

And to the rest of my true friends...I knew you were all there and never really needed to prove it. This guy is probably using a new ID from a former userID that got banned because of nimrodness.

No worries. The Geezer remains intact and riding on Konis.

16valex 09-30-2012 07:13 PM

Geezer, You're not old, wait until you meet this true enthusiast (not me BTW) you'll be shocked how old he is. He's in the New England area.
