Advice needed

I am trying to replace in a 2008 BMW 528xi the original tires 225 50R17 for a sport package 225 40R18 (front) and 255 35R18 (rear). I believe the sport package for the 528xi calls for 245 40R18 in all four tires. Any problems having different width tires in the front and the back?

Just make sure the 18" rims you get has an offset that can fit the XI.

Good point about the offset. The rims should be ET 35 or more. If just buy sport package wheels they will not fit.

Yes, I installed them and the offset was right so no problems.
