Northeast Fall Foliage Run and visit to Lime Rock Park

We will be touring Litchfield County (Northwest Connecticut) and will be stopping by Lime Rock Park, where we will be guests of The Drivers Club on Saturday and then going to The Wall of America museum in Winsted, CT.

This event will run from Friday evening October 26, to Sunday afternoon October 28th. You are welcome to attend which ever portions interest you or that fit your schedule.


The Wake Robin Inn in Lakeville, Ct. is reserving a block of rooms. We will be able to book one or two nights. Alternately rooms can be booked at the Iron Masters Inn which is a motel down the road. A bit less elegant but also slightly less expensive. Both serve complimentary breakfast.

Friday night dinner will be at the Boathouse Restarant in Lakeville which is a 5 minute drive from either location.

Saturday morning after breakfast we will drive to Lime Rock and meet in the Sunoco Paddock at Lime Rock which will be reseverved for us. We will stop by the Lime Rock Club Clubhouse and then head down to Michelin Tower (the timing tower). We will raffle off Hot Laps with one of the Club Instructors in the Club's M3. We will then have a brief tour of the track. Lunch will be at the Lime Rock Cafe (which is nothing fancy - burgers, sandwiches, etc.). We will then head out for a drive on some of the areas scenic roads, stop for a picture taking opportunity at "Captain Audio's Driveway" (Housatonic Meadows State Park) and contintue on to the Falls Village Inn for dinner, The Falls Village Inn is going to prepare a Prix Fixe menu with several menu choices and we will have our own private room.

Sunday morning after breakfast we will head to Winsted CT. (we will pick a fun and scenic route) for a private tour of The American Mural Project. This is not to be missed, It is a 3D mural that is so large (150' long, 48' high and 6' deep. Ellen Griesedieck (wife of legndary race driver Sam Posey), the artist who is behind the project, has offered to give us a private tour of the site. I was there a few weeks ago and it is AWESOME!.

This is a family friendly event and SOs and children are welcome.

I remember some really fun roads right before getting to Lime Rock.

We will have to put in on the Bucket List for a future year. We did a Bed and Breakfast in CT a few years ago . Great Landscapes. You all have a fabulous time.:thumbup:

If I get my car by then I might show up as a stalker. ;) It arrived at VDC this morning.

You should have your car in plenty of time and you can attend whatever portions of the event you like.

I live in NY. VDC is VERY close. Dealer told me it takes 7-10 days from arrival at VDC. I thought that was stretching it. :tsk: wow Why did I think that was this weekend....zoned out . Might be there after all.

Several 'Festers hooked up at the Mount Washington Climb To The Clouds, it's quite natural to engage in "enthusiastic performance" with other passionate people when the significant others are out of sight. I mean, you don't think I'd take the ///L328i on such a long journey just to see some leaves, do you?
