The new 2007 328i won't start and takes hours to reset? Any i

Started as soon as I took it off the lot. Little yellow triangle light on dash! Gave it back to dealer to fix. Should I try to void the sale? Got the dealers loaner now as they fix this.

Turns out it is a bad fuse! I was so excited when buying the car and now so disappointed! I have two small children and must have a reliable car. Tell me some one please that these 328i from 2007 aren't complete money traps! (And safety hazards)

astirling 10-02-2012 11:13 PM

Edited due to the simple fact I was talking rubbish. :(

Schufal 10-03-2012 06:23 AM

Lol, thank you though for responding. Still upset that dealer promised it was in perfect condition but did not catch the fuse problem. Silly me for not having an independent inspection before signing my name on a contract

astirling 10-03-2012 06:52 AM

I wouldn't worry too much about a fuse. I know it's not a great first impression but its a very minor issue in the scheme of things.

A salesman shone you on?

Shocking!

CPO?

Schufal 10-03-2012 05:31 PM

What is CPO?

astirling 10-03-2012 11:20 PM

A gold coloured translator droid that can't say numbers...

Schufal 10-04-2012 01:33 PM

Lol, thanks

I still do not have my car apparently there is a router issue. dealer cannot figure it out. spoke to the owner yesterday and don't know what's is going to happen. Word to the wise do not buy a used BMW that is not a CPO.

Buying any used vehicle carries an inherent risk of problems and BMW is no more or less likely to have them.

mjrbimmer335i 10-06-2012 03:50 PM

I bought mine used and NO CPO. No problems here.

Schufal 10-06-2012 04:11 PM

That is good to hear. Maybe I will get good news soon. When I was able to drive it, the car was so awesome!

I'm guessing CPO stands for certified pre-owned.

I have a 335i (sedan) sport pkg, iDrive etc etc... It's an '09 and had 8,900 miles when I got it. Sad thing is I am selling it because I no longer can afford the expense.

Finally got my car back!! They had to replace the fuse box

heres my 2 cents...

Had a 2007 328i sedan black on beige (CPO) bought it at 42,xxx miles... here were my problems:

At 45xxx miles had my battery replaced ( Paid out of pocket , not covered under CPO)

At 50xxx miles had my starter replaced ( $850 cost but replaced under Cpo warranty)

at $59xxx miles had my left door actuator replaced ( i think this was over $1000 cost but replaced under warranty)

Now currently own a 2007 328i COUPE bought used with NO warranty at 50k miles and here is what i have had replaced within the first 4 months :

Battery replaced $130 out of pocket
Starter replaced $360 out of pocket
Yesterday my electric water pump broke down + thermostat needed replacement ( $800 cost for both including installation)

Bottom line: even though most say the 3 series cars are reliable, my experience tells another story.

I wouldnt get another beamer after i get rid of this one.

My brother's g35x 2007 hasnt had a single problem and he bought it at 55k miles and is now at around 90xxx miles.

Father's Lexus rx330 2004 ran upto 114xxx miles and only replaced battery in its life time

They both would laugh at me everytime my car was at the dealership , mind you i NEVER received a loaner.

I've learned my lesson, TWICE.
Cheers

Only had the car home for a few hours and now the rear passenger door lock has no power. Only opens manually. All other lock work. With?

Your door actuators are fried. These cars are garbage . Good luck

Schufal 10-13-2012 10:12 AM

Car goes back to dealer on Monday. Disappointment is an understatement!

Schufal 10-13-2012 12:52 PM

Now dealer is saying they have no more money to spend on this car. Hump.

astirling 10-14-2012 09:44 AM

Oh dear. What a nightmare.

Schufal 10-15-2012 08:42 PM

Traded it back to the dealer. No way . This car was not worth it
