Check Engine light

Hello Bimmerfest!

I was recently driving home and my check engine light came on. I have noticed no significant noise that is standing out of the normal of the car, however when I shut it off earlier today my yellow low oil indicator light came on. I was wondering if anyone thinks that the low oil light could also trip the check engine light, or if these were two separate problems.

You need to get your codes scanned, there are over 200 things that can possibly generate a CEL.
