Window tinting in South bay
 
Hi All

Any BMW owners (especially 328i) in SF Bay Area, if you've got your bimmer windows tinted in south bay, can you please suggest me any good places and recommended pricing?

I can recommend Auto Mall Tint Specialist in Fremont for the outstanding job they did installing Huper Optik on my Accord a few years back. All of the tint shops near me carried various metallic products and I was looking for ceramic to avoid problems with my Nav and radar detector. I originally had an appointment with a shop in Sac, but they stood me up... so I called AMTS. They not only opened on a Saturday to help me, though they only advertised M-F hours, but they quoted me at $450, which was $50 less than the other shop. When I got there, we discussed the different varying levels of darkness and how a 45 film might be better than a 35 on the curved rear glass (if memory serves, they have to melt the film to fit, which can create ghosting and distortion on darker/thicker films). I eventually decided on a 65/55/45 front to back, which was perfect. I was very pleased with their customer service and quality of work. I sold the car 4 years later, having had no tint-related problems (ie. bubbling, peeling, scratches, etc). Good luck!
