Retrofitting PDC in E60 with OEM BMW parts - Need help with programming/coding

Hi there,

I'm going to retrofit PDC in my BMW E60 520i 2003/08 using the following BMW OEM parts:
1 x PDC sensor cable set front bumper
1 x PDC sensor cable set rear bumper
1 x PDC modification cable
4 x PDC sensors front
4 x PDC sensors back
1 x PDC module
1 x PDC / DSC switch console

The retrofitting will be done by a professional who's going to receive a reasonable amount of money from me. But the coding/programming part I want to do myself (since I won't have any money left). I have everything I need to code/program and my laptop set up and running correctly (INPA, EDIBAS, NCS EXPERT, DIS, PROGMAN + USB OBD II cable)

Since I'm a newbie to programming/coding I would really appreciate some help with coding my retrofitted PDC. What do I have to do/code in order to get the OEM PDC working?

Your help is really appreciated!

Thanks.

Have you completed any of this? I would be interested to hear how it turned out... I have an E60 and really wish the original owner had ordered this option. I'm tired of pulling up a little too far on parking blocks and would love to retrofit this as well.

It's all done and it works like a charm.

Step 1: Install all the parts
Step 2: Update the vehicle order to include PDC ($508)
Step 3: Code the M-ASK (in my case) to show PDC

In total it cost me EUR 490 for the parts and EUR 250 to have it all built in.

For a full overview of all the parts, condition, part numbers and where I bought them see the following website https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...4Zkw3MXc#gid=0 (Google Spreadsheet)

If you have any questions feel free to ask them.

Wow, thanks for mentioning the part about updating the Vehicle Order... I have been spending way too much time reading about coding our vehicles!

Anyways, the coding sounds straight-forward enough, but I'm stuck at the center console switch. I can't find the part number for the switch on your spreadsheet (61 91 6938310). I think this was your spreadsheet, I found it on another forum, maybe 5series.net.

What does the switch even look like? Currently on the driver side (left) I have a DSC button, and on the passenger side (right) I have a trunk release button. There are apparently many different combinations depending on if you have heated/cooled seats, active seating, etc.

Check out these images from realoem.com:

I'm just lost because I don't know what the PDC button looks like on a car with the option installed from the factory.

Any help would be appreciated. I am beginning to think a mod like this is above an amateur such as myself.

It's probably my Google Spreadsheet.

The switch for my 2003/08 520i looks like this:

If you have a newer model, it might look like the ones on your images but it has to have a PDC switch with the same logo (P with the pawn).

I don't have any seat heating or other fancy stuff, so my center control switch has just two buttons, one for the PDC and one for DTC. If you have other fancy options, like seat heating, you should get a center control switch with the additional buttons.

If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask them, I'll be glad to help if I can.

Why not just install a video camera from modmynav? It will cost you $485, which I think is about the cost of the PDC controller and sensors. For another $185 you can add a front camera. You don't need to code anything, either.
