Replace Front Wheel Bearing 1980 R 100
 

Hi

Had mishap with my R 100 front mag. Need clarification as to positioning of trush sleeve on both sides of wheel. This sleeve sometimes called Top Hat due to fact it resembles a Top Hat. Therefore my question is does Top of Hat side fit on Inside (towards bearing) of oil seal or on Outside (towards fork) of oil seal ???

Met friend who had R100 of same vintage as mine. Top Hat portion of thrush sleeve fits towards bearing but inside Oil Seal thereby pressing inner portion of oil seal against bearing and ensuring dampness and water kept away from bearing.
