how to clean BMW 330i mudflap mark
1 Attachment(s)
i recently bought bmw 330i 2004 and the previous owner installed mudflaps and had it for 8 years. but i removed these today and there are marks (stains) left on where the mudflaps were.
i tried with mothers clay bar and couldnt get these marks off the paint. could some one help me how i can remove or clean these dirty marks? |
Get a tube of Meguiar's ScratchX. Use a bit of towel to polish the marks away.
It'll take a bit of an effort to do it by hand but that's the only option you have really. Apply a wax or sealant after the marks are gone. |
thanks
how about meguiars ultimate compound? which one would u recommend? scratchx or ultimate compound? |
Either one would work for the removal.
The Ultimate Compound may leave some hazing because of its harshness and you might need a 2nd buffing with a finishing compound like M205. Your eyes will tell you if you need the 2nd corrective step. ScratchX would remove the stains and finish up without any extra correction needed - I'm thinking. |
Best practice is to begin with the least aggressive polish, then move to a compound if necessary. That being said, yes the Meguiars M105 compound followed by M205 is an effective combination. I'd start with M205 on an orbital DA buffer with a white pad.

For something like this I would use a chemical based polish like a paint cleaner.
